The forum, a collaborative effort between Taiwan’s semiconductor research institute and imec, a prominent Belgium-based research organization, centered on the advancement of technologies, fostering research, nurturing talent, and fortifying Taiwan-Europe cooperation. With a vision to transcend traditional manufacturing and design partnerships, Taiwan is looking to broaden its semiconductor collaboration with Europe, aiming for a more comprehensive engagement across the technology spectrum.
According to Taiwanese officials, the synergy between Europe’s foundational strength in science and research and Taiwan’s rapid manufacturing and commercialization abilities presents a fertile ground for collaboration. Emphasizing the importance of talent cultivation, Taiwan’s scholarship programs have already facilitated the education of over 500 European students in semiconductor manufacturing.
