China is set to kick off its National Science Popularization Month, an initiative aimed at enhancing public understanding of scientific advancements and boosting science literacy across the nation. This month-long programme, themed “Science Transforms Lives, Innovation Secures the Future,” will encompass a diverse array of exhibitions, lectures, science tours, and activities designed to engage the public.
In the capital city of Beijing, more than 100 exhibitions and events are slated to take place at major venues, providing ample opportunities for citizens to explore various scientific concepts and innovations. Furthermore, national scientific societies are organizing an additional 150 activities across different regions, focusing on making fundamental research and emerging scientific developments more accessible to the general population.
One of the highlights of this initiative is the opportunity for visitors to gain firsthand experience by accessing laboratories and research facilities. This aspect of the program is designed to offer insights into the latest advancements in science and technology, fostering a deeper understanding of cutting-edge innovations.
Additionally, the programme will feature the 2026 World Conference on Science Literacy, scheduled for mid-September in Beijing.
