Rupert Grint is making a return to the character of Ron Weasley, this time on Broadway in the acclaimed stage production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child. This marks his reunion with the iconic role more than 10 years after the last Harry Potter film was released. Grint is set to join the ensemble for a 17-week engagement starting in February 2027. His portrayal of Ron Weasley alongside Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson in the eight-film series left a significant mark on fans worldwide.
Reflecting on his return to the magical world, Grint expressed excitement about revisiting a character that has been part of his life since he was 11 years old. He noted that portraying Ron as a father will bring a novel yet familiar dimension to the role, aligning with his own life experiences. Grint’s comeback follows that of Tom Felton, who recently stepped into his familiar shoes as Draco Malfoy for the same Broadway production. Felton will continue his role through January.
